Was the last time you bought a pair of sunglasses four years ago? Even if your designer sunglasses are still holding up, they make your look dated. Those aviators with the white plastic frames? Not even appropriate for a rave on Ibiza anymore. No matter if you plan to stay at home and visit the beach, take walks outdoors, or go on a vacation, make sure you are equipped with the right eyewear to match your look.
So, what is in for men this year? Men's and women's designer sunglasses are tossing aside the bright colors and embellishments and, instead, are going for toned downed and classic. Don't worry aviators are still in. Instead, though, think about updating your wardrobe with a neutral metal and black pair or mirrored style.
Aviators are not the only classic style to return, however. Many looks last seen in the 1980s are back in style: wayfarers and clubmasters in particular. A style that debuted in the 80s, clubmaster sunglasses were re-launched at the end of 2008 and are now gaining visibility. Wayfarers, similarly, went under the fashion radar for over a decade and are now a staple style for both sexes. Basic and complimenting styles, wayfarer and clubmaster sunglasses can match your look in black, or if you want something different, go with a colored frame.
The mirrored look is also in for men this summer. Sometimes dubbed a "police look," mirrored sunglasses are neutral but distinct and do not have a clunky appearance. Rather, any classic look, such as wayfarers or aviators, can have a pair of mirrored lenses.
What shouldn't men be wearing this summer? If you plan to buy only one pair of sunglasses, do not go with anything bright no turquoise frames, no red clubmasters and instead find a style in black that fits your face shape and complements your look; such designer sunglasses should go with nearly anything you own. Similarly, steer away from embellishments. Rhinestones are so three years ago, and unless you plan to spend some time at the beaches in New Jersey, you should stay away from bright metallic colors, rhinestones, and gradient lenses.
