The latest in Handheld-Seduction Gizmos

Handheld devices have unshackled the reaches of man and his abilities. Always in the know, always on the go, men and women today swear by handheld gizmo power. After all it is the best demonstration of more Power' to the people.

Notebooks have freed writers from the boundaries they can operate from. Notebooks have gained massive popularity in all social circles because it allows a person 24/7 access to computing. Writers and graphic designers swear by notebooks today. They allow people to work in the right state of mind in any place they wish. Writers especially require more freedom of thought and movement to explore the best within them.

The mobile phone has rapidly spread among every kind of population the world over. Entire populations of the globe including far fetches villages that had no idea about the world are now in the know. The mobile technology has succeeded in truly empowering mankind. With a simple device, charged or paid for, you can always be in touch and your family never has to worry about your whereabouts. Once call and everything becomes clear.

Everything is more compact yet bigger, small but faster, slim yet deeper, thin but wider, powerful in all senses. So are the lie detection devices.

Details on PCASS

The Preliminary Credibility Assessment Screening System or PCASS for short is a monster creation of innovation in handheld and security sciences. It was used recently in April 2008 at Afghanistan by invading United States' forces stationed there.

It is a simple handheld device like the iPod, yet deadly efficient. It is both a boon and bane since it can be used against us as well. The person who is being interrogated gets wired to the PCASS through the fingers. Trained interrogators ask specific questions to identify the signals produced by the brain in situations where is conveys true as well as false data. Yellow is an error when signal was not strong or processed well. Once mapped, the person cannot lie without getting caught.

Whoever is it the receiving end of PCASS has no choice but to convey the information truthfully. MSNBC reported that the U.S. Military has requisitioned 94 PCASS units for use against insurgents in Afghanistan in 2008. In other secret service questionings as well as in the torture chambers of Guantanamo Bay this weapon is actively exploited. There is no confirmation as to the total number of such devices that exist as of date in all divisions of the forces.

The technology behind the device

Inside one finds two electrodes and one Pulse Oximeter just like in a normal polygraph machine. It works exactly like the real thing. The wires and electrodes and designed to aid in detecting stress and other signs of lying including heartbeat which is measured by the Pulse Oximeter, pupil dilation, skin coloration, sweating, body movement and other tell-tale signs that experts are aware of.

The one difference between PCASS and a real polygraph machine is that PCASS does not detect sudden changes in breathing. Otherwise it is much more advanced and even displays other questions previously asked that elicited the same response from the machine as did a current question.

PCASS records help experts question and cross question suspects and terrorists and gain the edge in the information war. Sometimes the experts even identify subjects deliberately captured to be interrogated and convey misleading information.

Why has PCASS been denounced?

There have been many naysayers publicly denouncing the armament of PCASS into the armed forces. They say the personnel aren't trained properly to handle this handheld technology. The officers who use the original polygraph machines are usually from the required education background and expert training

Some even say that PCASS works second rate compared to the all-reliable polygraph machine. Polygraph has been a tried and tested method that has been in use since decades. It has successfully performed with a monster success rate. PCASS works different and reads psychological indicators instead of physical ones. It wholly relies on artificial intelligence and computer programming to make decisions. One cannot completely swear by the artificial mind of a computer, especially things like lie detection which require human intuition. A computer is based on set rules and can be fooled, the rules can be bent, and some can be entirely broken.
