SSC Recruitment Exam

Staff Selection Commission is the biggest Government body to recruit Indian citizens from all over India for Group C and Group D posts in various Ministries and Central Government Departments. The commission has been involved in recruiting more than lakh candidates since its inception. SSC is able to systemized and smoothen the whole recruiting system. Before the formation of SSC, there were number of recruiting authority to recruit candidates for filling up the vacant posts in various departments. Due to this there were many irregularities in managing the whole process i.e. to organize written examination, interview, issuing admit card, etc. There were always complains from the part of applicants regarding publishing of job notification on regular basis. Different departments used to publish their job notification unmindful of dates announced by other recruitment authorities. This used to result in clash of dates. Besides that, candidates were not able to know about all such job notifications, because there was not any single platform to inform about such vacant posts.

Reforms in SSC: There was a reform in year 2010 , which has resulted in reduction in the numbers of exams conducted by Staff Selection Commission. First, the Graduate Level exam became single interface for the recruitment of all degree holders in Group B and Group C Posts. Earlier there used to be separate examination for the post of Tax Assistant and Section Officer. On the same pattern LDC( Lower Division Clerk) and Date Entry Operator recruitment examination have been combined into one examination which is known as "Combined Higher Secondary Recruitment Examination".

The later half of the year 2010 witnessed the introduction of SSC Multitasking Exam. This exam was meant for the recruitment of candidates who have passed their secondary school examination. Furthermore SSC introduced the constable recruitment exam in the month of February 2011. This exam is used for recruitment of constables in BSF, CRPF, SSB, Assam Rifles, ITBP and CISF.

Application Process For SSC- Candidates who want to appear for the SSC Recruitment exams in 2011 must keep abreast with the latest SSC Recruitment notifications. According to their comfort they must apply online or offline. For their own interest they are advised to apply without waiting for the last day of the application submission. The number of examinees have increased in the SSC recruitment exams and it would be beneficial for the candidates to remain updated with the status of their SSC Admit Card. Candidates not having admit card are not allowed to appear in the written exam.
