How To Fix The Missing ComRes DLL Errors

Firstly the ComRes.dll file is a specific type of file and that is a Dynamic Link Library file. Dynamic Link Library files are there to act like instructions to the computer, which tell it how to act in certain situations and this leads to the computer completing certain tasks that we ask for. Dynamic Link Library files are crucially important to the computer's infrastructure and for it's general day to day operation. The resulting ComRes DLL errors can be caused by many things but the most common reasons are due to the computer not being able to read or load the file. Another common cause of the ComRes file error is due to the computers registry, which acts like a virtual database that stores very sensitive information that is also very important. In order to fix the ComRes file error you need to find the root of the problem so that you can start from the beginning and work out the best way to fix the problem and return your computer back to normality.

When you are using your computer and you happen to come across the ComRes file error you will usually see either one of these error messages:

"Comres.dll Not Found"

"This application failed to start because comres.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem."

"Cannot find [PATH]comres.dll"

"The file comres.dll is missing."

"Cannot start [APPLICATION]. A required component is missing: comres.dll. Please install [APPLICATION] again."

These errors usually appear due to the file being damaged, corrupt or accidentally removed from the computer from its location, either when an application or program was removed from your computer. It can also have been accidentally removed if a program or application has been installed. In order to fix the ComRes file error it is recommended that you follow the tutorial below:

The first thing you should do is replace any programs that may causing the problem when you installed them on your computer. To do this follow the steps below:

Or Programs and Features for Windows Vista and 7 users

Once the list of programs appears you should then proceed to successfully remove and uninstall programs that you think may be causing the problem by following the uninstall wizard.

Restart your computer

Re-install the programs that you removed from your computer

Restart your computer.

Next you should proceed to manually replace the ComRes DLL file. This is particularly helpful if the uninstallation process was unsuccessful. Also when you replace the file the computer will immediately think it is new and so it minimizes the risk of more errors appearing. To replace the ComRes file follow the steps below:

Download comres.zip from the Internet

Unzip the comres.dll file onto your computer's hard drive

Browse to c:WindowsSystem32

Locate the current comres.dll on your system

Rename the current comres.dll to comresBACKUP.dll

Copy & paste the new comres.dll into C:WindowsSystem32

Click Start > Run (Or search"run" on Vista & Win7)

Type "cmd" in the box that appears

Type "regsvr32 comres.dll" on the black screen

Finally, hit the Enter key

Finally it is highly recommended that you scan your computer's registry for any impurities, errors, damages or junk files, because we have been removing a lot of programs from your computer and so there is a chance that a lot of files may have got left behind or current file being damaged. The registry is basically a virtual database inside the computer that stores important information that the computer needs to continue running successfully, however if that process is disturbed by errors or damaged files then it can disrupt the computer's daily functioning and lead to even more problems.
