Today there went my first interaction with my new society that I joined, i.e. Aspire. I used to think that I am very confident for what to say, and I can say whatever I think in all my interviews or GDs. Today there was my first GD (actually 2nd), and I realized I was unable to put my point. Just there was a tug-of-war in my mind that will it be good for me to put up this point, will not it be just a rubbish thing to talk about? Well, as like always the GD ended and my contribution was the least (thank God I was able to put single point). After coming out from there, I came up with many good points related to the topic.
Once I was walking with one of my friends and we both were supporting the fact that we can crack any GD/PI because we have got a lot of confidence. I don't know why but that day I was feeling enormous amount of confidence in myself. But as I have read in one of my subjects (Organisational Behaviour), as the situation changes, the behaviour changes, I completely got a different perception. I WAS NOTHING. Here are some good things I learned today:
-> Sit straight in a GD(you have to, as it is only a 10 min. Job)
-> Put your point even if you think it is rubbish, you may get some different ideas after listening what others say.
-> Never put a point which you nothing else know about, as others may try to oppose it (that you might don't know about), and you might get into a situation like I Know Nothing Else, What Now?'.
-> While putting your point, maintain eye contact with all your GD-mates. This is important.
-> Don't put your point for very long, you should take at most 30-40secs. 20 seconds is pretty good.
-> Have a good command on English Language. I realized today why they always advice to read The Hindu'.
Now I think I should wait for the next interactive session, and I hope I will have a good experience in the future. Thanks for your patience.
