The Misery of Accountant Negligence
The Misery of Accountant Negligence

Many people mistakenly belief that accountancy negligence is something which is encountered as a matter of course. If an accountant doesn't tell you about the VAT which should have been paid, or provides you with wrong advice about an investment, what can you do? After all you were only following their instructions. However think again, even if you may have temporarily benefitted from your accountant's negligence, in the end your finances will catch up with you and you will be the one left footing the bill.People who have experienced accountant negligence have experienced professional negligence and as such need to pursue a professional negligence claim. However they are also used to an unspoken questioning as to their competency. HMRC may well assume that the errors in tax paid or VAT were down to the individual and they could even then be accused of fraud. Or people who are aware of what happened, but may not know the full facts may also hold this erroneous belief. To many people this might not seem like such a big deal, however those whom have suffered accountancy negligence would be quick to disagree with this. It is a double attack; it is quite bad enough that you have had to deal with your negligent accountant let alone others accusing you of fraud, this can be much worse. We must remember that many of those people whom have been the victim of accountancy negligence have been left with big tax or VAT bills from HMRC. So after you have suffered professional negligence, you may also be faced with a huge tax bill and with questions raised over your financial integrity. Wow, it is like being hit from all angles! The effect that this could have on the person's life could be quite dramatic and it should not be underestimated. People often feel like their life has been ruined and all this becuase their accountant was incompetent. So that is why anyone who has experienced accountant negligence needs to make a professional negligence claim to ensure that accountants clean up their act and that the instances of negligence are greatly reduced. If people do not claim against professional neligence then accountants will get away with it and it will not be stopped.
