subject: Acne - The Four Culprits That Cause Acne [print this page] Acne is a problem 85% of suffered from at one point in our lives. Acne outbreaks typically occur most often during adolescence, however for many people acne still surfaces in the adult years. There are allot of myths as to why acne happens but, there is not a sole cause. Acne is caused by a number of factors. We will look at those factors below
Diet
There are many myths regarding diet and acne. Chocolate and greasy foods often get an unfair wrap by critics. chocolate does not cause acne. While there are some food oils to avoid like vegetable based oils, acne is caused by insufficient amounts of vitamins A and E. The shortage of these vitamins can cause the pores to clog.
Stress
There is allot of compelling evidence that suggest stress and anxiety are linked to acne outbreaks. When people are stressed they sweat which will cause pores to clog easier.
Hormones
An imbalance of hormones can cause acne. This will cause the sebaceous glands will produce an excessive amount of oil. This problem commonly occurs during puberty, when hormone levels become erratic. Women also see an increase in outbreaks around their menstrual cycle for this very reason.
Cosmetics
Oily cosmetics can also contribute to acne. These cosmetics tend to clog pores which are the source of all acne. it is important for women to find make up that compliments their skin type and even more important to remove makeup prior to sleeping.
While none of these factors solely cause acne they all contribute to it. The great news is acne can be prevented from forming and one can make their acne disappear in as little as three days. See my resource box below for details.
