Landmark Education is a new type of learning that improves the value and attitudes that people have towards work and success. It differs from standard learning because it embraces transformative learning instead of informative learning. Most learning institutions give a lot of information to their students. Very little emphasis is laid on transforming the students into highly motivated members of society. Learners of Landmark education are given an introductory course known as Landmark forum. Landmark forum creates an opportunity for an education that enables ordinary people to change their attitudes and bring about positive change in their careers. Landmark education is available in more than a hundred locations. These locations are spread over 20 countries around the world. The Landmark forum takes place in a workshop setting. This can be a hotel conference room or one of the meeting facilities located in large metropolitan areas. Willing participants in Landmark education and Landmark forum are encouraged to find dates and locations that are convenient to them.
The Landmark forum is a three day course that typically includes an evening session. This is usually Friday, Saturday, Sunday, as well as Tuesday evening. All full days begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at 10:00 p.m. Breaks are issued every 2-3 hours, including a 90-minute dinner break. The evening session usually takes place from 7:00 p.m. to 10:45 p.m. The Landmark forum course has been pursued by people from six continents. These include North America, Europe and Africa.
Landmark education involves the use of employees and volunteers. Landmark education is managed by Landmark Education LLC (LE). This is a personal development and training company that offers Landmark education in locations spread all over the world. LE is an employee-owned private company. Its headquarters are located in San Francisco, California. Since its inception in 1991, Landmark education has developed other courses. One of its subsidiaries is known as the Vanto Group. This was previously referred to as the Landmark Education Business Development. The Vanto Group delivers consulting and training services to organizations. The Vanto Group also helps in marketing these organizations.
Participants in the Landmark forum are given an overview as to what they may expect from the course. The daily schedule is revealed and participants have a chance to ask questions. This creates a stage for people to engage powerfully with the material. They are able to maximize the value of their participation and produce unprecedented results over a short period of time. Participants are encouraged to be open minded and objective. They are challenged to realize the truth if they are not open minded. They are guided by the desire to look good in front of other people. Our approach to ourselves and society is discovered as being inadequate. Our attitudes are often filtered and even masked by pre-existing notions and ideas. These ideas are generated from our upbringing, our values and past experiences. Participants in Landmark education are encouraged to view events as they happen and not as they think they happened. This offers them a fresh perspective on life.
