One of the great things about the internet is that it makes buying and selling very easy. You can buy or sell pretty much anything very easily and very quickly using the power of the internet. The internet is now making it even easier for people to sell their car. Anybody that owns a car will at some point think to themselves, I want to sell my car and I want it to be a quick and painless process.
So, what are the different ways that I can sell my car over the internet? Firstly, I could look at posting an advert for my car on one of the many free private listing websites. Obviously one of the biggest benefits to using a service such as this is that it is free to advertise. On the downside these types of websites usually have multiple categories for sellers to list the item that they have for sale. So, this type of website is not a specialist car sales website and is unlike to generate much interest in the vehicle that I have for sale.
If I want a specialist car selling website on which to post an advert for my car then it is more than likely that I'm going to have to pay a fee to sell my car. The reward for paying the fee is that the specialist website will probably generate a lot more potential buyers than the free listing site.
Ok so I'm thinking about trying to sell my car by placing an advert on one, or maybe multiple websites where my vehicle will be advertised to private buyers. This may cost me in the region of nothing up to around 30 to 45 depending on how long I want the advert to run for. Some of the specialist car selling websites around can guarantee me nationwide exposure to a large audience of potential buyers.
I am now wondering about the downsides are of using this method to sell the car. Well, it can be quite a time consuming process. I need to be available whenever somebody wants to view my car. I work 9-5 and I have a family so it isn't always easy to be at home at a time that is convenient for a potential car buyer. What if I wait at home and somebody turns up and looks at my car and then tells me that they have 5 other similar cars to view and that they'll call me back later if they are interested in mine. Or worse still what if they arrange a time and then don't turn up. It always amazing me at the number of people that don't have the courtesy to let you know that they won't be coming after they have arranged at time to view.
I really think that trying to sell my car in that way is not the best option for me. So what about paying my local car dealer a visit and offering him my vehicle. Ok I know he won't give me what I know it's worth but I understand that he needs to sell the car on to somebody else and make a decent profit on it. So I get in the car and drive to my local car dealer and wow he is expecting me to pretty much give him the car. He knows I want rid and he's not desperate to buy so he's made me a ridiculously low offer and I'm not willing to accept it. I decide that I'm not going to waste my time and drive to another dealer because I know that the same thing will happen.
Now what are my options. I decide to go home and get back on the internet. I type in sell my car for free and I am presented with a list of websites offering to buy my car for cash. Obviously these sites are run by dealers so I know that I'm not going to get top price for my car, but, these dealers look like they actually want to buy and are willing to offer a reasonable price. I can put my car details into a few of these sites and within 24 hours I will get a good idea of who is prepared to offer the most. Or, better still who is prepared to make what I consider to be a reasonable offer and turn up at my house at a time that suits me and transfer the payment straight into my bank before driving off in my car.
This is definitely the right option for somebody like me who is looking to sell my car quickly and easily at a price that is reasonable for the age and mileage of the vehicle. If I had the time and patience to advertise my car on some of the specialist listings websites then I would probably achieve a higher price for the vehicle. I want rid of my car quickly and I do have enough time to sit in front of my computer for an hour or so. Therefore, the best option for me is to shop around the various 'We Will Buy Your Car' websites and see who offers me the best price.
