The sweeping coast line, from east to west, is the jewel in its crown. The promenade also has many cafes and restaurants in which one can languish, to enjoy a fabulous range of cuisine.
There is indisputable evidence to support the belief that this ancient town gives vital clues to the fascinating links to the origins of mankind, which have as yet, not been fully explored due to a vast network of potholes leading down to caves, which stretch from this area for many miles into the mountain ranges to as far as Malaga.
Links which tie all of the genetic codes together, because only as recent as 1959AD, and not by archaeologists, but by three friends, only some 52 years ago, which in real time are not even one full tick of the clock, the fabulous Nerja Caves were discovered, and which lead into a vast labyrinth of tunnels that were there before mankind was born.
One of these caves is huge, and is formed into the shape of an amphitheatre, thus simultaneously returns a haunting and beautiful acoustic presence, which is why regular concerts of all kinds of music are played in it.
