If you're in MLM business and not using Twitter, you're missing out big time. It's one of the coolest tool that you can have in your MLM marketing strategy. And I really mean it.
The buzz of Twitter has just been around for a couple of years, but it has been growing by leaps and bounds. Not convinced? Just look at the Alexa ranking of this site. At the time of writing, Twitter is in the top 300 most-trafficked websites. It proves that people are heavily lurking here...and among them, tons of potential business partners.
So why does Twitter attract such a huge amount of people and how can you use it to market your MLM business? Let's dig down these questions deeper.
Basically, Twitter is a social networking site with micro-blogging concept. And this concept is very simple, answer the question "what are you doing now?" in 140 characters or less. So it's like a blog, but much shorter - hence micro-blogging. Each of this short message is called 'tweet'.
Just like any social networking site, you can also build a network of people here, but instead of friends they're called followers. Basically, followers are people who are interested to follow you tweets. And your tweets can only be seen by those people following you.
But unlike most social networking sites, Twitter do not have fancy stuffs like games or applications. You even can only display one photo and 140 characters for your bio. And this what makes Twitter uniquely attractive. You must squeeze your brain to come up with a short, yet compelling first impression. A terrible place for spammers but heaven for brilliant marketers.
Now here's the comparison of ordinary blog with Twitter. If you have 10 people you're following closely on the internet, you'll spend at least 30 minutes to read all of their blog posts every day. With Twitter, you can get to the point about their activities in less than 5 minutes. Let's be honest to ourselves, people are lazy and love the word 'instant', right?
With such simple and fast interaction between tweeps (a cool name for Twitter users), Twitter is extremely effective for relationship building over the internet. In case you haven't noticed, relationship is the ultimate key in MLM business success.
Spend about 5 minutes to tweet 2-3 times per day. Over the time, when your followers are big and the interaction is getting high, you might spend a half to an hour per day just for replying other tweets. But it's a good thing. It means your followers are responsive. When trust is established, you can then begin to market your business.
Bringing targeted followers to your twitter account and turning them in the cash paying customers is a problem of the past.
