Michael Scott is the owner of Riverside Heating and Air Conditioning Inc., a certified, insured and licensed firm serving the heating and air needs of the greater Memphis, TN area. Here, Scott explains what his team of professionals does when called out to do regular inspections on heating and air conditioning units.
When you've finished with air conditioning and heating installation, you need to make sure your investment will continue to perform well. That's where regular maintenance comes into the picture. At Riverside Heating and Air Conditioning Inc., part of what we do is air conditioning and heating installation, and part of that is maintenance including preventative maintenance to make sure everything is working as it should. This is incredibly important in a hot climate such as Memphis.
We only offer the highest quality products, such as Bryant, Amanda, and Frigidaire to our many customers. According to the manufacturers of the products we install, heating and air conditioning systems should be serviced twice a year, and that's something we stick to. That means having one service completed for the air conditioning side, and one service completed for the heating side. It's all part of our commitment to proper installation and proper maintenance.
Inspect Your Heating System
Over time, your heating system gets older, losing its efficiency, or even stopping working altogether. For this reason, the highlight of doing a heating inspection service is checking that all the necessary safety precautions are in place and working up to speed.
We offer our client the best inspection services. In particular, we check to make sure that there is no chance of any carbon monoxide poisoning. To accomplish this, our qualified and skilled technicians work hard to inspect the heat exchanger very well to make sure there are no cracks. As part of our inspection, we also clean the burners, check the gas pressure coming to the unit, and check all the bearings on the motors on that unit. We also check the thermostat calibration and operation, and of course change the air filter to make sure that the unit will work and continue to work as efficiently as possible for as long as it lasts.
Maintain Your Air Conditioning Unit
The cleaner your air conditioning unit can be, the more efficiently it will run, and the longer it will last. Therefore, when it comes to maintenance of air conditioning units, we begin by chemically cleaning the outdoor condenser coil. Along with that, we check all the bearings on the motors outside, and all the electrical components on the air conditioning unit outside as well. This includes checking the Freon level to make sure it's full; if not, we can add some Freon to it. Then we check the calibration operation of the thermostat and change the air filter.
If you buy HVAC units from us, then you typically include a once-yearly service for the first year. After that, you should call us and take out a maintenance plan with us. It is a maintenance contract which includes everything the manufacturer recommends within a year, plus a 15 percent added discount on all repairs that might be needed. Along with our top quality service and highly skilled technicians, that's something our Memphis customers have come to rely on.
