Uses of the Insulated Stainless Steel Mug

As more people are working away from home they are finding it an advantage to provide themselves with accessories that both save them time and money. For travelers it is important that they can have a drink at regular intervals and it is not always possible to find a cafe or restaurant on the route they are taking. It is in situations like this that taking an insulated stainless steel mug with them is a good choice.

This may not be an item you would use around the house but there are plenty of times when it will be needed. For outdoor parties or barbecues it is tempting to use disposable items, but if there are hot drinks being served this is not a good idea as they can be blown over easily. Using your own china will also lead to breakages so if you are holding events regularly it is worth investing in a number of insulated stainless steel mugs.

There are a number of different designs but they allow drinks to be kept warm for a long period of time and have a number of other features that make them ideal for use by those spending a lot of time on the road. Most are bigger than an ordinary mug and will hold around 3/4 of a pint. A double wall inside will help to keep the drink hotter for longer and by having a thick layer of plastic on the outside it makes sure that the mug is not too hot to hold.

There are some smaller ones available and for short journeys this will save waste. Handles tend to be large so fingers are not close to the hot sides, although the insulation contains most of the heat and there are some designed in a way that they have a handle and the bottom part is slimmer than the top so they still fit in the car drinks holder. There are three main types and the difference is the way you drink from them.

With one the lid is taken off and used, as an ordinary mug would be. The other has a space in the lid that the drink comes out of. This makes it easy to use in the car or when walking as the liquid will not spill out at every little movement. The third does not have a lid and is just like an ordinary mug apart for the fact that it keeps the drink hotter much longer, so with this version a flask will be needed.

For overnight fisherman and campers these mugs are very useful as it is not a good idea to have to start building a fire in the middle of the night to get hot water. By doing this before it goes dark, you have drinks all through the night and not risk an accident. The base is designed in such a way that it will not slip and slide at the slightest movement. As long as you use the holder in the car you won't have hot liquid over you or the floor. Although with an insulated stainless steel mug most people think of keeping things hot but they do an equally good job keeping cold drinks cold.
