Great Programs Which Will Assist Your Youngster Learn To Read

Our kids today are more intelligent than ever. Many kids are starting to learn to read earlier than generations before them. It is important, that starting from at an early age, parents instill a love of reading to their kids. Parents can take these simple learn to read tips and apply it in their own homes. With their guidance, kids learn to read faster and are introduced to the joys of books and the many worlds they have in them. Here are our favorite learn to read tips for children.

1. Read to your children from the earliest possible moment. It is necessary that as a parent, you set the example of a love for reading. When your child catches you reading to him and hears all the great stories found in books, he will also start to think that reading is a fun activity. When you kid is old enough, explain to him illustrations in picture books and read to him different stories. This simple activity is enough to make creativity build inside your child.

2. When running errands with kids, such as going to the grocery store, read out loud various grocery ads as well as sales flyers. Grocery ads are a good thing to start with because the signs are simple, and they usually contain graphics with it, giving your child clues. You can point out the words to your child and assist him as he slowly tries to read it. It is a fun way to learn about letters and sounds.

3. Try recording your child when he reads aloud his favorite stories- kids really enjoy seeing or hearing themselves doing things. Record your child reading using a camcorder or a cassette recorder. Then, you can take that recording and listen to it together. The great thing about listening to a recording is that the child will be able to hear and see where he made some mistakes, and together, you can make improvements so that he gets better the next time you have him read aloud.

Remember that your goal in all of these activities is to make the activity of reading as fun and fulfilling as possible. The more fun your child perceives reading to be fun, then the quicker he will want to learn to read! Also, the more fun and child friendly your activities are, the more your child will want to participate in them, making the teaching process so much more easier for both you and your child.
