Whenever you begin something like going for a new dream, you need to know your resources. It would be naive of us to think we could do everything alone. However, again, we don't need to "reinvent the wheel." We can learn from those who are where we want to be. Duplicating their pattern of success can help us succeed.
Taking advantage of the information and tools already available to you is a smart thing to do. You may not know where the answer to one of your challenges will come from; you may not know who has the contact that will lead you to the next leader in your business or profession. It has been said that we are all, at most, just seven people away from anyone in the world. It would take only seven contacts to reach the President of a country or well-known chief executive officer, or anyone else.
The key is to make a list of people you can contact and start taking action. You may be better connected than you believe you are. Statistics show that, on average, most people know about 250 other people. People are the greatest resources. People are first; products and services follow. You just need to go through the noes to connect with the right people who agree with you and have a vision for their future.
As you meet people and make new friends, remember what Dale Carnegie said: "You can make more friends in twomonths by becoming more interested in others than you can in two years by trying to get them interested in you."
Sometimes the best way others can help you is to believe in you and your ability to achieve your dreams. And in any quest, your leader or mentor shows you they believe in you by supporting your efforts to build your business or profession. You can then pass this belief on to others and help them achieve their dreams. From a tiny spark, the flames of enthusiasm can spread very quickly.
Contrary to popular belief, no one is self-made. It takes the cooperation of other people to realize a big dream. No one can become successful alone, no matter what field of endeavor they may choose. And the best way anyone can succeed is to help others succeed. Be committed to helping others, and good things will happen in your life.
Here's Your Action Plan
You're now ready to focus on the action plan for your dream. Spend about ten minutes reviewing which resources you may already have and which resources you may need to develop (perhaps a clearer vision of what you want, a relationship with your leader or mentor, and time activity management).
What specific results would you like to see from this dream? You may want to retire from your job or current business to work your new business full-time. What strengths do you still need to build to be successful? Maybe you need to learn to ignore negative thinking people who are trying to steal your dream. Carefully consider each of your answers. They will be useful in helping you decide which action steps to take next, so you can make progress on your dream.
Strengths That Need To Be Developed For This Dream:
Writing out the plan
Developing a system
How to engage in international business
Resources I Have:
Money
Time
My brother-in-law knows a lot of people in this industry
Resources I Need:
A manufacturer
Fulfillment services
Attorney
You may still need several resources. Do whatever it takes to get what you need to build your business or profession so you can make your dreams come true. Take advantage of your industry's system of success and encourage your associates to do the same.
You're investing in yourself and remember, when you are passionate, committed, and fired up, people will come into your life who believe in what you're doing. By helping them achieve their dreams you can achieve yours too. It is a well known fact of success that the more people you help achieve what they want, the more you'll achieve as well. It's simply impossible to be successful alone.
When you have a big enough dream, no matter how many obstacles you have, you can overcome them.
