If you are into the sport of softball, you already know that you have to continue your training whether the weather is fine or not. In case the weather outside is not perfect for you to have your practice on the field, you should not worry because there are lots of indoor softball drills which you can prepare you for your incoming game.

Well learning your hitting techniques outside can be more effective compare to indoor softball hitting drills but indoor drills can help you to get familiar with the different hitting styles you can use in playing the game. Here are some indoor activities you can do in case it is not possible to have your practice outside.

oHitting from a Tee some players are not in favor with this drill because they think that it is just a waste of time but once they do understand the role of this drill in their performance, they will surely enjoy doing it. While doing this drill, you should concentrate un your stance and position of your hands and arms. You should step forward on your front foot while keeping your back foot planted. Then you should make sure to make a full swing using your bat. Your head should remain down on the ball. Your coach should watch for your hitting styles to make some necessary corrections afterwards.

oHitting off a Machine pitching machine is very handy to make your indoor softball drills more effective. The speed of this machine can be set accurately so that you can cope with the rhythm while you hit the ball. The drill will teach you to hit the ball right back at the pitching machine. This drill also improves your bunting skills which is often forgotten skills by many of the players today.

oFielding and Throwing there are several indoor softball drills which will enhance your fielding and throwing skills. The drills will make you to become fit and prepared to play your sport.

oFielding without Gloves you need to field the ball using your bare hands without using a glove when you do this drill. This focus on your ability to get square with the ball, bends your knees, and cradles the ball into your body. Since rolling of the ball is required in this drill, the coach should monitor his players to make sure that they are rolling it in the correct speed.

oFour Corners this drill requires you to stand with your teammates at each of the corner of the gym. The drill will begin when one of the players throws the ball on the player standing on the diagonal corner of the gym. The player will then catch the ball and throws it on the same direction. The process will just be repeated until all players on each corner of the gym have their chance to throw and catch the ball.

Indoor softball drills are very helpful to make you well prepared in the different challenges you are going to face when you are already in the field. This is the reason why many coaches appreciate doing such drills.
