In early 2011 Samsung, a HDTV manufacturer from South Korea, released several brand new series of high definition LCD, LED and Plasma televisions. Among them the D8000 LED line which can be considered as high end. It is available in stores and online since early march and already on it's way to become a new besteseller. Time to have a closer look if it can live up to the expectations of many television fans around the globe.
Compared to the older C8000 models from 2010 the design was totally revamped and all televisions from this series are only an amazing 0.2-Inches slim and come with a new brushed metal look. This makes the D8000 a great addition to every living room or home cinema room. The remote control was redesigned as well and now resembles a Smart Phone. It has a touch screen and pretty much became a control center instead of an ordinary remote. Looks good and feels good!
After having a look at the UN55D8000 I can assure that this is probably the best LED TV you have ever seen. Crystal clear image quality, very smooth motion without any blur as well as absolutely natural colors. Older LED models always suffered from two problems: A pretty low refresh rate and inconsistent backlighting. Thanks to several image improvement technologies and a new dimming method called "micro dimming" these problems are totally gone for good. A year ago nothing was able to beat the picture quality of plasma screens, but now LEDs really caught up, along with all the advantages of LED technology.
Before ordering the UN55D8000 online you should watch out for special discounts or price reductions, although it is absolutely new there are already some major retailers like Amazon offering it below the list price. Overall, it is certainly not the cheapest LED high definition televison around but certainly one of if not the best money can buy. Even better, the 3D glasses are now included either physically or in the form of a voucher. They are lighter and better looking than last years, more comfortable to wear, too.
