Puppy Perspective - Helping Mom Heal
Puppy Perspective - Helping Mom Heal

Momgadget's mom fell off a ladder last week while trimming trees. She was not severely injured, but her doctor did suggest rest to help her heal. Mom is not good at resting, and was not pleased with the Dr's prescription. Of course, the puppies had a different healing perspective.

Buddy Too and Buster are miniature schnauzers, and mom's newest kids. During momgadget's formative years, no dogs were allowed in the house. By contrast, Buddy and Buster are the kings of mom's castle. They even rule the master bedroom. If my parents, behaveie don't move too much or snore, they can earn the privilege of sleeping on the bed with the dogs.

Buddy and Buster seemed delighted with the Dr.'s mandatory rest requirement, and did their best to help. These furry lumps planted themselves in mom's lap, and would nap for hours. Their combined weight of 30+ lbs made it difficult for her to move or avoid disturbing their rest. This prompted mom to ask for help, instead of moving and doing things for herself.

They stayed at her side always, and regularly shared encouraging licks. If she'd persist in moving, they'd employ their irresistible eyes, soft whines and insistent nudges to remind her to still. The incredible thing about the puppy's healing perspective, is that it worked.

Mom did rest and recuperate. No amount of help from mom's doctors, husband or human children could have accomplished what Buddy Too and Buster managed. I think these puppies have it figured out.

A Puppy's Healing Perspective

Snuggles and Licks make a body feel better.

Sleeping on laps helps the healing process.

Naps are crucial to good health.

A puppy at rest stays at rest.

Puppy love cures just about everything.
