It's been an interesting start to the year and decade for me my friends. Has the year begun as you had planned? Or has the universe thrown some challenges from the off? 2010 was a massive year for me. I realised my five year plan, leavingJPMorgan and starting my own business.
I am not going to lie it's been very challenging at times. I walked away from a steady income, the support of a team, infrastructure, resources, etc. I've had some serious issues with my health too and have been labelled a "Medical Enigma" by my Doctor.There has been many times where I have felt out of my comfort zone, overwhelmed, overloaded, etc. I'm sure this will resonate with many of you.
A good friend once told me that "Wisdom is the instantaneous recognition that crisis is a blessing". It's not always easy to see it at the time. I wanted to share a video clip called Who Are You? I think the words deliver an important message. Take a look
The message I want to get across here is don't be disappointed if the last decade didn't turn out as you had planned. Think about the lessons you have learned along the way, all the good things you have achieved.
We all have challenges in life and make mistakes. What important is taking ownership and responsibility in your actions. Looking at what you can do differently. Don't let your excuses hold you back or damage those around you. If things don't go the way you planned learn and grow from them. Sometimes you have to let one door close for the right door and new opportunities to appear.
