Spanish course in Spain: a deep immersion into Spanish culture

Learning a language is something more than just going to classes with you teacher. The best way to improve your language skills is to get to know the culture of the country the language you study. So, what is better than going to Spain to practice and improve your Spanish skills.

Spanish language courses normally consist of Spanish classes of about 3 or 4 hours a day and accommodation with Spanish host family or in shared flats with other students or Spaniards. This combination helps you have a constant contact with the language and practice all day long. Some schools offer additional activities after language classes so that you could immerse into the culture (check if these activities are included in the price of the course or not).

If you want to know how to choose the best course that suits your needs, you should:

first choose the most interesting programme for you. Some schools offer only general Spanish courses, but there are more and more offers that include specialized activities (cooking, flamenco dance, Spanish guitar classes, drawing and even horse riding).

decide how many hours a day you want to study. The perfect solution is a 4 hours course and some extra activities a day so as not to get too tired. But if you feel like you need it, you can also ask for 1 to 1 classes with your teacher or join the language exchange programme (meetings with Spaniards to practice Spanish in exchange for conversations in your language).

choose the accommodation. The best choice would be a Spanish host family or shared flat with other students. This way you'll be in constant contact with the language. If you feel like, you can also book a room in a hotel, but you will surely lose a lot of communication opportunities.

ask for the teachers qualification. It is important that they have the right education in teaching foreign languages. It's not enough to be a native speaker in order to be a good teacher.
