What is Aldara Cream?
Aldara is an off-white and almost odorless cream, which is commonly used to treat genital warts that appear on the outside of the body. This cream is also used for solar keratoses and skin cancer treatment. Each gram of Aldara cream contains 50 mg of Imiquimod (immune response modifier). Imiquimod is an active ingredient in the cream and provides relief from genital warts. Aldara works by strengthening the body's immune system to fight against viral infections. This medicine is not a cure for genital warts and new warts can appear during the treatment. How to Apply Aldara:
This cream should be applied just before bedtime.
Wash your hands before applying this cream.
Apply a thin layer of the cream on your skin and rub it gently until no more cream is visible.
Leave the area open; do not cover it with bandage or dressing.
After applying the cream again, wash your hands properly.
Wait for 6 to 10 hours and then wash it off with mild soap and water.
The recommended application is 3 times a week.

Do not apply this cream on injured, broken or burned skin. Before using aldara cream, seek advice from your doctor and read the label's directions carefully. This cream can increase the risk of harsh skin reactions, if you do not follow the instructions carefully. If you are pregnant or planning to get pregnant, avoid using Aldara and contact your doctor for an alternative treatment. This is only for external use. Do not apply this cream on your eyes, lips or in your nostrils. If, by mistake, some cream does enter your mouth, wash immediately with water. You need to tell your doctor, if you have any of these conditions:
Weak immune system
Autoimmune disorder
Recent bone marrow transplant
Recent cord blood transplant
Graft-versus-host disease
Pregnancy or planning to become pregnant
Allergic to any drugs
