Connecting VGA to TV is much easier today that it was before. To safely do this, you will need the following materials: an external TV tuner, S-Video cable, composite AV cables (Red, white and yellow), and an S-Video cable adapter. A VGA to RCA cable adapter will work however.
Step 1: Connect VGA Cable To VGA Adapter
The first step in connecting VGA to TV is by connecting the VGA cable at the rear end of the PC, to a VGA adapter. Place the cable plug into the VGA jack, and use the locking bolts to safely fasten the plug sides. Next, put the yellow RCA video cable in the round jack, which is located at the other end of the adapter. You could also try using an S-Video cable to connect VGA to TV, as long as the adapter is equipped with an S-Video plug.
Step 2: Plug S-Video Cable To TV Tuner Jack
The next step would be to attach or plug the S-Video cable to the TV tuner jack. Place the speaker cables at the right and left monitor to the television tuner's "Audio Out" jack. For the left audio, use the white plug and use red for the right audio. You can also connect external speakers to the TV tuner's Audio Out jack if the monitor doesn't have built-in speakers.
Next, turn on the TV and computer, and change the TV to the correct video channel for incoming connection from the PC. Most TV brands today will have plenty of video channels, from component, S-Video to HDMI. You will know you got the right channel as soon as the TV has a blue screen instead of just show static, and displays your computer's desktop already.
