Twittering on the Web - Twitter Web Sites

The different Twitter websites offer useful features such as URL Shortening, image sharing, and real-time updates. You can also use these sites to manipulate your Twitter world from anywhere as long as you have internet access and Web site-based tweeting which becomes alternative to the desktop variety.

iTweet

iTweet is a full-featured Twitter interface enough bells and whistles to keep most Twitters happy. After you log in with your Twitter username and password, you will come across the main page which is divided in two sections

The left column includes a posting area at the top of the page and your friends' tweets below. The timeline is automatically updated as well. Straightaway, this site is one step ahead of Twitter by including more features in the Home page.

The right column shows your profile info, most recent tweets, and boxes for searching Twitter, configuring iTweet settings, and learning iTweet.

You can also work with the tweets by using icons that appear on the right side of each update

Retweet. Click the RT icon to retweet selected message to your followers

Favorite. Click the star icon to mark this tweet as your favorite.

Reply. Click the @ icon to send a reply to tweeter.

In reply to. If the update you are about to post is a reply, click this text to see the original tweet that the update will reply to.

This is a nicer feature and is often indispensable in letting you understand whatever the tweeter is talking about or if the update is not clear.

When you come across the urge to share a tweet, click inside the text box at the top of the page and type your message. iTweet has three different tweeting tools that you'll love using

URL Shortener. Click this tool, type a Web address in the "Enter a URL" box and click Shorten.

TwitPic. Click this tool if you want to share a photo with friends and family. Type a description in the text box, click "Upload", and choose the picture you want to share.

Symbol. Click this tool to display a collection of different and additional characters (not found on your keyboard). FI you see a symbol that would go along with your tweet, copy the symbol and paste it in your tweet.

If you want to send a direct message, click thee "Send direct" button, type in username in the Direct Message to text box and click Send DM.

Replies. Click to see the replies sent to you.
Direct. View direct messages.
Favs. Favorite tweets.
Followers. Click to see people who follow you.
Archive. Click to see tweets you've sent.
