How Christian Dior became Haute Couture designer.
Haute couture is a French word for high sewing (seabastian, 2009). It refers to creation of exceptional expensive clothing. Christian Dior S.A is a French high fashion clothing retailer which has in possession the major luxury company. Christian Dior involved himself in fashion arts early in life, where he would sell his fashions on the streets to make money. After school he opened a small gallery using the money received from his father. He later joined the house of Lucien Lelong, where he became a designer together with his partner Pierre Balmain.He founded his own house of Dior which was established in 1946, and 1947 a new line of his collection called corolle.He further gained fame when he designed for sophisticated women from Europe and rich wives of the Nazis in world war 11 bringing back Paris to number one capital of fashions in the world. His career only lasted for a span of ten years (Elie and Alice, 1954).
What inspired him when creating their fashions?
Christian Dior was inspired by his intention of creating, a romantic and feminine look dresses, which emphasizes luxury rather than comfort. Mainly to uplift the hard times women were going through during the Second World War. He was also inspired by his credibility in designing of hats than dresses.

Robert Piguet is considered a mentor of Dior after he hired him and allowed him to design full-length dresses. Lucien lelong whose fashion house was larger than Piguets hired Dior for five years during the Second World War. He later moved out and began his own fashion house in 1947 after getting capital from a wealthy textile industrialist, Marcel Boussac.

Christian Dior studied political science for 5 year that is from 1920 to 1925 Paris, before he moved to serve the French army.
