Twitter For Beginners - The 7 Laws of Twitter - Master These Basics to Guarantee Your Success

At this point if you haven't heard about Twitter you're either new to the internet or you've been hiding in a closet somewhere. Twitter is one of the fastest growing social media and web marketing tools online today. The question is how do you use your tweets and our time on twitter to get maximum results?

There are 7 basic principles for "tweeting" (which is what it's called when you post a message) that anyone who's new to Twitter needs to follow in order to be successful. Their called The 7 Laws of Twitter. Failure to stick to these principles will result in burned bridges, fewer followers, and unqualified traffic, if any. But adhere to them, and you'll have literally thousands of people hanging on your every word and jumping on everything you have to offer.

The 7 Laws of Twitter are:

Get to the point (this is basically a must, since you only have 140 characters)

Add value by contributing content that your followers would be interested in. You can also retweet messages that other people you are following have posted, so that all of your followers will see it. Retweeting is a way of saying to someone in your network that you value their contribution, by sharing it with your followers. Hopefully they will return the favour.

Strategically follow others (follow people locally, or based on profiles that fit your target audience)

When people follow you, thank them and avoid the urge to start pitching your latest and greatest this or that right off the bat

Be consistent - with your message and with your time. Set a "twitter time" and stick to it each day. Or better yet, employ one of the great automation strategies that are out there, such as tweetlater.com

Be authentic and transparent - people are smart, and even on the internet they can smell a slimy self-serving salesperson. Be yourself, and stay true to your message.

Remember your purpose - this is about relationship building! You have a tremendous opportunity to connect with other people who may be looking for exactly what you have to offer. But just like any relationship, the most important thing to establish is trust.

This type of training can truly make or break your online business. Be sure that you're getting the training and mentoring that will help you to succeed. Follow these 7 Laws of Twitter and you'll be successful. Ignore them, and you'll find yourself standing all alone at the internet's water cooler.
