Facebook Fan Page Marketing Basic Steps

Recently, there's been a massive amount of buzz surrounding Facebook fan page marketing strategies. Yes, there is a lot of hype, but Facebook can get you floods of traffic and new customers regularly if you know how to harness the platform correctly. Here are some things you should do to market, promote, and advertise your business on the largest social network on the planet.

Create a Facebook fan page.

This is the appropriate way to establish your brand and marketing platform on Facebook. Never use your personal profile to do marketing activity or you risk getting banned. So many are making this critical mistake.

Make sure you get a custom Facebook landing page design.

The big reason is because your fan page serves two purposes. One, you want to get an interested person to "like" your page. Secondly, you want to capture their name and email to be able to further follow-up with them off of the social network. You must carry the conversation off of Facebook.

Use Facebook Advertising (AKA Facebook Ads) to drive traffic.

Once your custom Facebook landing page is created like I mentioned above, you can begin to buy traffic from Facebook. This is similar to the Google AdWords platform but even more targeted, believe it or not!

I will usually drive traffic to my Facebook fan page by Facebook ads, blogging, video creation, article marketing, forums, and through joint venture partnerships. Those are my favorite ways but not the only.

With a good landing page, you should capture at least 40% of the traffic that is sent your way. So, now you'll be building an email list you can follow up with time and time again.

Follow up consistently

This is an important aspect many Facebook marketers completely miss. When you capture a name and email, it will usually take between 6-10 contacts for that prospect to start to know, like, and trust you. You MUST follow up on a regular basis.

You can either send-out email blasts or queue auto-responder messages that are timed to go out on certain days. This is so easy and yet extremely powerful.

Wash, rinse and repeat

You can set-up as many fan pages as you want. If you have a business that has different specialties, you'll want a Facebook fan page for each one, as the type of client will be different. For example, if you're an attorney specializing in divorce law and DUI's, you'd never mix the two and market the same way.

Keep these tips and strategies in mind and you'll have your first profitable Facebook fan page marketing campaign up and running in no time!
