Red Fort The Red Fort is Delhi's most popular monument. It is a reminder of how powerful the Mughal rulers were. The fort is protected by walls that stretch more than two kilometers. It was built to keep the invaders out. Visiting the Red Fort will take you to the past as you get to watch a one-hour show of sound and light which is held each weeknight.

Jama Masjid The Jama Masjid is another wonderful treasure of the Old Delhi. This is known as the largest mosque in India because it can hold 25,000 devotees at a time. The Jama Masjid took 13 years to build. It was completed in 1650. Visitors can climb to the top of the tower to view the stunning scenery below.

Chandni Chowk This is the major street in Old Delhi. Walking along Chandni Chowk will give you an indication of Indian life. During the day, the street is swarming with rickshaws, carts, cars, pedestrians, shoppers, and animals competing with the road traffic. Even though it is the oldest street in Delhi, it remains the busiest one. There are good finds and bargain goods along the Chandni Chowk. It has several shops selling jewelries, electronic gadgets, fabrics and other affordable souvenirs.

Humayun's Tomb Delhi's Humayun's Tomb was inspired by the Taj Mahal, located in Agra. The Humayun's Tomb was built in 1570 for Emperor Humayun. The tomb is an elegant structure with beautiful gardens surrounding it.

Lodi Gardens For visitors who want to take a serene walk away from the noisy city, Lodi Gardens is the place to visit in Delhi. The attractive garden was built in 1936 by the British rulers. Today, Lodi Gardens is a favorite among yoga practitioners, joggers or young couples enjoying a romantic walk through the park.
