The word chakras originated from ancient Indian Sanskrit and thus we can say that chakras mean a spinning wheel or a circle. Chakras are energy centers or meridians or centers of spiritual powers in human body that regulate the body by storing and distributing energies of life in the soul, spirit and overall the whole human body. Nadis energy lines connect chakras to the body. Chakras usually provides energy to the immune system, metabolism, digestive, respiratory and glandular system. There are many charkas but in these articles we are going to look at seven main types of chakras and their meanings. In most case these chakras start at the bases of the spine and moves up towards the head.
Root chakrasIt is mostly positioned at the base of the spinal column. This kind of chakras mostly influences the legs and feet, kidney, rectum, bladder and spinal column. Chakras usually offer health, protection, success and self-motivated presence. It aid in keeping us grounded on the earth and works in conjunction with the other six chakras and mostly deals with body survival such as protection, food and shelter. Chakras may be balanced by walking bare foot, cooking, dancing just to mention a few.
Sacral Chakra- It is also referred to as sexual chakras or spleen chakras and is located below the navel and usually involves the kidney, bladder, sex organs, skin, abdomen, pancreas, spleen, gall bladder, liver, upper intestines and the middle of the spine. It connects people to others through sensation, feeling and desire and as a result brings about depth of feeling, sexual achievement, and the ability to admit and take up changes positively. In case these chakras are imbalance it brings about negative effect on the physical human body and emotional problems.
Solar Plexus Chakra- It is also called power chakras and situated in the solar plexus and it rules our personal power and metabolism. Solar plexus chakra relates to the kidney, stomach, spleen, liver, gall bladder, digestive tract, adrenals and small intestines. Balancing these chakras is quite essential as it helps us to complete all that is before us and that ought to be accomplished.
Heart Chakras It is commonly referred to as Air, Social identity, oriented to self-acceptance and it is located at the center of the chest. Heart Chakra relate to the heart, esophagus, breasts, arms and hands, rib cage, thymus, blood, lungs, and diaphragm. It allows people to love genuinely, feel compassion and have peace in their mind.
Throat chakras-As the name states it is located at the middle of the throat and mostly interacts with the esophagus, arm, trachea, mouth, teeth and nerves. It helps in creativity and communication and to balance these chakras one need to listen to music, sing, and go for a walk.
Brow Chakras-It is also referred to as the third eye and is located at the center of the fore head and it connects the ears, eyes, nose, and brains. It enhances the sight or the ability to see and if not well balanced can cause headache, lack of concentration and physiological predicament.
Crown chakrasIt is usually located at the top of the head and usually affects the brain, nervous system and the pituitary glands. It is related to awareness and realization and if not well balanced it can result to physical problem such as worry, immune disorder and cognitive problem.
