TaylorMade Burner SuperFast driver information

Three years after unveiling Burner 07, the most successful driver in history, Taylormade, the No. 1 driver company in golf is unveiling the next generation of this phenomenal franchise, named simply Burner SuperFast 2010. Weighing just 284 grams (an astounding 14 grams less than the Burner 07 and Burner 09 drivers), Burner SuperFast is a speed demon, designed to deliver increased clubhead speed and superior distance.

The TaylorMade Burner Superfast driver is the latest edition in the hugely popular Burner range. The Burner 07 has proved the most successful driver in TaylorMade's history but the Burner Superfast moves the franchise to a higher level.

At just 284 grams the Burner SuperFast is 14 grams lighter than the Burner 07 and 09 models allowing it to offer incredible speed and distance. A new sleek, aerodynamic design has been incorporated into the 460cc clubhead along with a very high moment of inertia (MOI) for much improved forgiveness.

Also critical to the Burner SuperFast driver's performance is its Matrix Ozik XCon 4.8 shaft, which is both ultra-light and tip-soft, helping the golfer generate more ball speed, a higher launch angle and more spin to promote more distance. And at 46.5 in length, Burner SuperFast automatically promotes a wide and fast swing arc.

One golfer said, "I have recently purchased this new driver and am very impressed, and using for the first time in comp into a massive head wind still got good distance as i am not a big hitter, currently using the R7 Limited have found the superfast more forgiving and hitting longer, i do however recommend getting the shaft spine alligned as i did this with my R7 and it made a difference will do the same with my new one."

We found the performance to be very good with great sound and feel and a nice trajectory. The looks and colour scheme on top of the head divided opinion among our testers, with some liking the modern looks and others put off by the red line on the crown. It was a little longer than the equivalent R9 driver but the longer shaft did mean a little less directional consistency. However if distance is your thing then the TaylorMade Burner Superfast driver is worth trying out.
