March, 2011, Amazon is going to release its own android tablet, just like Kindle, but not sure of what time Amazon is going to release it yet. As it's the largest online retailer , Amazon kindle and e-books have been very successful, Kindle still own a big part of market share and take some of part of tablet.
Amazon is called as heaven for Android developers', they hired five developer last week, although it does not quite clear means Amazon tablet based on Android system, but from what Amazon recently development, it's very likely that they are going to release their own Android Tablet.
Earlier this week, an Amazon online app shop had appeared for a while, most of android apps have lower price than Android official website. If Amazon is going to have online Android app shop release, then more likely it's going to release its own Android tablet. However, if Amazon decide to do this, then they definitely needs a big and mature market , Kindle somehow has made it.
Both apple and amazon think successful online shop has immense effect on sales of their hardware. Apple has iTunes and iBooks and app store. Amazon also has similar online stores.
As android online app store released, Amazon is now capable to compete with Apple. Apart from Android apps and Kindle e-book, Amazon provides music download and video broadcasting. Amazon Android tablet users will get immense content and information, compare to iPad users, Amazon tablet's resource is going to be more diversified.
Android system is currently the world's best selling smartphone platform, but that's only on smartphones so far. iPad occupied almost 90% of tablet's market share which is about 5 billion dollar last year. But Android tablet has huge potential, so let's wait and see what Amazon is going to bring us.
