Silicon Valley Technology Recruiting

There is no escaping the simple fact that computers are now fully integrated into our daily lives. Unless you live among the Amish, there probably isn't anything about what we buy, watch, read, or use that hasn't been brought to us thanks to the advances in computer technology. The big news is that we're not finished with the development! Every day it seems that new leaps are being made in all kinds of technology from improvements to our cell phones to better streaming of online videos. The onslaught of these constant upgrades have become so prevalent that Best Buy just launched a new campaign that offers customer the chance to sell back your old gadgets when they need to replace them with new gadgets. For the sake of this discussion "old" could really be considered a couple of months!

All of this means that the need for qualified technology workers has never been greater and we all know that ground zero for the tech industry is Silicon Valley. This is why technology recruiters need to find quick access to the next generation of IT staff in order to stay competitive. The obvious first choice would be to develop relationships with the prominent computer science colleges across the country. Any student who is working on or about to earn a degree in this field is well aware of what Silicon Valley means to computer technology. You won't have to do a hard sell to convince them to relocate. The real issue is will you get to them before another recruitment firm will?

As a technology recruiter, the time to tap into the next gen of IT workers might not be as they are handed a diploma, but a few years earlier. If you begin to develop a relationship with the stand-out students then you could be in a solid position to set them up for gainful employment in Silicon Valley. All this will take is a bit of internet investigation on your part and having a strong applicant tracking software standing by to manage these potential hires. If you plan on tracking them over the course of several years, you'll want to make continuous updates to their records.

Your software should be adaptable to those demands.Beyond campus recruiting, there is also the ability to find qualified applicants who are already working in the industry, but who might be open for change. You'll find these folks roaming the many industry conferences and trade shows. If they are out there looking instead of working then you know they might be a good candidate to add to your roster. This would then become a separate section of your database: the experienced worker. Because there is so many changes in the technology industry, you'll find they many of these workers are always updating their own skill sets either through work or certification programs. This information will need to be incorporated onto their files as well.

The bottom line is that if you want to succeed in technology recruiting then your business's own technology should be up to date and cutting edge.
