How to Let a Guy Know You're Not Interested

We all know how it is, you meet a guy, maybe give him your number and then after a couple of weeks of getting to know him, he's not your cup of tea. But how do you go about letting a guy know this, without hurting his feelings? Or without having to ignore his calls?

If you are texting each other quite regularly and you want to cut off contact, it is probably best not mention about meeting up until he does. And when he inevitably does ask to meet up, be casual and relaxed about it. It will be best to respond by saying that you are busy, or just merely saying you're not free that night. This way you won't hurt his feelings, and you come out of it with some credibility. The most probable response you may get after this incident, will be that they guy will lose interest and could possibly ask one more time, but after a second rejection, 9 out of 10 guys will lose interest completely.

If for some strange reason the guy doesn't back off, then you may have to be firmer in your approach. It may be time to say to him that he is the reason you don't want to meet up, and it will never happen. Unless you are working with this guy, or you have to see him everyday then there is no need to worry about how you go about telling him this. Make sure in no uncertain terms that he knows where he stands and you will have no problems here on out. It is important that you do stress this in no uncertain terms however, as if you are ambiguous with the way in which you make this point, he could accuse you of leading him on.

Dating can be tough nut to crack. You may meet ten guys of which only two you like, but it is how you deal with the other eight that says more about you than the two you do like. If you treat them with respect then most will be ok with you, but if you mess with them, they may get annoyed in which case you need to make sure you are prepared to be firmer. Ultimately the ball is always in the girls court and it is what you do with it that counts. Always stand up for what you really like.
