Mantels can be built from several materials: wood, limestone and even marble depending on everyone's taste and vision. Of course, the best designs were made of marble and they are most appreciated. The person that designs and builds the mantel must be a visionary and must be a skilful person to prove that he can create a unique piece. Some models are kept simple but others use figures, vegetation, moldings and several other things when creating a mantel depending on the style of the room and the vision of the sculptor. Some people say that this is a true art and should be created an encyclopedia for it. The material is not the only important things when designing a mantel. Also, the style and refinement of the sculpture gives it the quality of a unique piece and that can highlight the aspect of the room where the mantel is built. The design of a perfect mantel can create a magnificent room.
