People generally tend to blame their habits for being overweight, and it is one of the main causes of being overweight. But definitely not the only cause. Gaining weight depends upon a lot of other things which people are not aware of, and the causes of it keep varying from person to person. One of the best ways to achieve great health is to not get overweight in the first place. But if you're already overweight so what? That's okay really! Just implement these tips I'll be detailing in this article and you'll be on your way to a thinner stature in no time.
1. Write down everything you eat and drink, including the amount you consumed of each item, the time of day and the activity at that time. When you review this journal it will give you a pretty good idea of your eating habits and what triggers them.
2. Alcohol plays a major role in making people fat, and for those people who are addicted to it, and also want to lose weight, it is just not the right path. One has to stop drinking alcohol if losing weight is a priority.
3. Yes, you read that right. The next time you feel a bit chubby you might want to get up nice and early and go for a morning jog (or walk). Do this before you eat as you will burn the calories that your body consumed the day before. A calorie surplus is, as you probably know, why you gained the weight in the first place.
4. It has been pointed out that we should eat 5 to 6 smaller meals per day. Remember to start with a good nutritious breakfast and then work in the other 5 meals which will include your lunch and dinner along with some healthy snacks in-between your meals. This increases your metabolism so it will not only burn the calories you consume, but will also burn any stored fat as well.
5. Having the same meal everyday should not happen, as this spoils the digestive system and makes it uses to only a particular type of meal. The human body should always consume proteins, vitamins, nutrients, fats, carbohydrates, and fiber, etc., in equal proportions.
6. I know it's not the most pleasant activity, but lifting weights will do wonders for your body. It's like supercharging your workout- any cardio that you've been doing will become more effective and your body will literally begin to shed pounds! Don't believe me? I don't blame you- it's not like getting up and actually trying it actually did anyone any good anyway.
7. Determine your weight loss goal. Calculate your BMI (body mass index) to find out if you're underweight, normal, overweight or obese.
8. Measure your waist, chest, hips, thighs and any other problem areas. These numbers will serve as a means of accurately tracking your weight loss in the weeks to come (see tip 1 below).
