Akshay Pratishthan School aims at creating opportunities by providing comprehensive and rehabilitative services for providing the kids with a life of equality and dignity. The school was established in the year 1988. Akshay Pratishtan School is a voluntary organization. The school was started in 1988. The school provides rehabilitative services for the disabled persons through education, medical care, vocational training and self-employment.
The school has classes from nursery to class VIII. There are also Intra/Inter School competitions that include music, arts, crafts, sports and banner writing. The school also provides vocational training in weaving, textile designing, embroidery, art and craft, bakery, beauty culture, carpentry, electrical repair and computer.
Akshay Pratishthan School Vasant Kunj provides inclusive education for over 400 children following NCERT syllabus. The school provides comprehensive rehabilitative services. The school provides equal opportunities to persons with disabilities. The school also offers development of human resources.
The children are taught to develop their interests in chosen vocational skills. Children also get to take part in craft, bakery, beauty culture, cutting and tailoring, computer, carpentry and home science. Students also get to participate in co-curricular activities like music, dance, debates and sports.
The school also has a science laboratory. There is also a English Language Lab. Frequent Workshops are organized to enhance student teacher rapport. Students also get to participate in academic courses from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) and National Institute of Open Learning (NIOS). Students also get medical services in physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and hearing therapy and prosthetic and orthotic unit.
