Are you one of the millions of mothers who is stuck in a low-paying job, struggling to make ends meet? Are you living your dream? You remember, the dream you had when you were a kid? The one where you have a job you love, a home you can afford and a college degree that you are proud of? That dream is viable. It is not too late.

More federal dollars are being allocated to colleges for scholarships and grants to help working mothers to fulfill their educational dreams. Funding for Pell Grant has been increased, with plans for future increases. Tax benefits for the first $4000.00 of educational expenses are now being allowed on your income tax returns. Furthermore, traditional campuses are not the only sources for these scholarships; online courses, and schools with a concentrated learning program in a particular field of study are eligible for federal funding. Financial aid is available for students based on income and need. Living expenses are included in the application process, such as rent, food and transportation. Once education expenses are covered, the remaining funds may be used for these household expenses, helping to take the stress off of working students with families. Furthermore, there are federal student loans available that can be forgiven if a person applies their newly acquired trade in a needy area.
