"While the stateside Jersey Shore locales have become iconic for our audience ... Europe is a fresh spin on a show that continues to reach new heights for us," MTV's Chris Linn said in a statement. "The cast is headed to the birthplace of the culture they love and live by. We can't wait to see what erupts as a result."
It's official. Jersey Shore is running it back for a fourth season and this time, the gang will take their act across the Atlantic to the motherland of Italy. Well, it's the motherland for Vinny Guadagnino, the only authentic Italian in the bunch. The rest of the self-proclaimed guidos/ettes are kind of posers. In any case, it's so on in Italy, where some of Vinny's relatives are even hosting the Jersey Shore crew for an authentic dinner, Guadagnino style.

It was announced a few days ago that MTV's The Jersey Shore's fourth season will be taking their cast of oiled up nimrods overseas to live in Italy. Now FOX411 is reporting that Italian American organizations are outraged (outraged, I tells ya!) over the fact that the fourth season of Shore will be filming there.
"We are disappointed that this irresponsible programming will be brought to Italy because it affects the image of all Americans, not only Italian Americans," Joseph V. Del Raso, President of The National Italian American Foundation told FOX411. "There is a perverse curiosity in wanting to watch the show and the Italian audience, like the American audience, may be attracted to the show out of curiosity. But we know that the Italians' good taste will immediately recognize this genre of programming for what it's worth."
With Jersey Shore somehow still building its audience, MTV has officially given the greenlight for season four. At first, the reality show seemed like a lightning strike that hit America at exactly the right moment, but as season 3 moves closer and closer each week to 9 million viewers, it's time to reexamine and conclude maybe this isn't just a flash in the pan. According to Deadline, the television network has decided to move locations for the upcoming season.
