Handmade Fashion Accessories from Sophie Cooper

Sophie Cooper is an Australia-based artist that specializes in designing fashion accessories and jewelries. Although with graphic art background, her taste for fashion and her innovations have made her a standout in the fashion industry, more specifically in the design of handmade fashion accessories. Sophie's inspirations come mainly from top fashion designer names such as Marc Jacobs, Sonia Rykiel and Akira Isogawa.

Sophie actually started out as a graphic designer at Foxtel, her very first job after graduating at UTS with a major in Visual Communications. After 5 years on the job, she ended up being a senior designer working on kid's shows in Nickelodeon and Fox 8. After that, she moved on to another designing company also designing for graphics on TV. After several years, she began to work freelance and eventually started her own company named Fifty3 Creative.

So where did all the fashion designing start? It eventually started when she was just reaching the top of her game. Managing over nine designers under another company and projects coming in on a steady stream, she turned to designing handmade fashion accessories and baby's clothes for recreation. As the company and her clientele grew, she eventually resigned from her graphic artist job to focus on running Scoops Designs.

One of her most notable creations is the Scoops Design which she started out in 2005. The brand features handmade fashion accessories that are all limited edition pieces. Scoops was not entirely created as profit venture but was more of a hobby. Every single creation under the fashion brand is something that stems out of Sophie's love for fashion and designing. The fact that her products turned out to be such a hit is just an added bonus.

Scoops Design mainly sells brooches and men and women's apparels. Her one-of-a-kind brooch selections are her best sellers. They come from whimsical styles to the more formal pieces. Aside from that, Sophie also makes use of the best quality materials on every piece. In 2007, her company was picked by the National Gallery of Victoria where she started designing exclusive handmade fashion accessories, more specifically brooches in several major exhibitions.

Aside from producing very fashion forward designs, the brand is also known for its eco-friendly fashion apparels. Her men and women's apparels make use of natural and recycled fibers such as cellulose and protein that create products which are environment friendly. Although most of the eco-friendly accessories are quite a bit expensive compared to the usual textiles and apparels, the benefits that they give to wearers and the environment is worth sparing a few more dollars for. Aside from that, these eco-friendly handmade fashion accessories are always unique and different.

Scoops also feature baby apparels and accessories that are just as fashionable as her adult apparels. The product is registered under the name, Baby Scoops which is now one of the most popular baby apparel brands in Australia. Scoops Design's gallery is based right at Sophie's home, where she does mainly all of her designs. Although she does not have a retail store open yet, she takes in most of her orders online. Sophie Cooper is indeed one of the newest designers to watch out for in today's fashion scene.
