* An emergency radio with extra batteries or a hand crank powered radio with battery backup and a NOAA weather radio
* Cell phone with battery, crank or solar charger
* A horn or a whistle to signal for help
* Filtering dust masks for dust or contaminated air
* Plastic sheeting and duct tape to seal off a shelter
* Personal hygiene and sanitation items
* Garbage bags
* Tools for emergency turning off utilities
* Extra pair of glasses * Medications
* Pet Food * Diapers & Infant formula
* Important records and documents
* Matches in a waterproof container
* Cash
* Notebook with pen and pencil
* Blankets or sleeping bags
* Sturdy shoes or boots and change of clothing
* Fire Extinguisher
