Lasers have been used in surgery for years for things like correcting vision, removing unwanted hair, repairing broken capillaries in the skin, resurfacing skin, reducing scarring, removing brown spots and to whiten teeth. Now the laser is used for fat removal.
Laser assisted lypolysis is the newest form of liposuction and is a low risk option for patients. Traditional liposuction has been the number one performed cosmetic surgery in the United States. Now with the laser and with less risk involved, we anticipate laser liposuction to exceed traditional liposuction by leaps and bounds. The new generation in liposuction is geared towards those in good health. It works well for those who have tried to lose stubborn fat in certain areas without success. Diet and exercise does not seem to budge the fat.
Arizona liposuction offers an out patient procedure that takes only up to one hour per body part. The doctor use a local anesthetic injected into the areas to be treated. The lidocaine in the numbing agent restricts blood vessels resulting in a virtually bloodless surgery. The way it works is that the fat is liquidized by a laser injected under the skin with a tiny cannula attached, which then suctions out the liquidized fat. There not much movement or jarring under the skin, resulting in little to no bruising or swelling post operative. With a cannula that is so tiny, the incision points are tiny and do not require stitches. Scarring is almost invisible.
Dr. Hall literally ruptures fat cells with the laser. Adults do not produce more fat cells in their lifetime, so the fat cells are gone forever. The results in the treated area are permanent. The laser also induces collagen growth resulting in immediate skin tightening with long term benefits to the skin. Where traditional liposuction might cause sagging or loose skin after fat is removed, patients having undergone laser liposuction experience just the opposite. The skin is taught and smooth.
There is no down time with laser liposuction at Arizona Liposuction. Patients are generally back to work within 24 to 48 hours and are advised to engage in only light activity during that time. Most patients do not experience pain, swelling or bruising following surgery and can walk out of the office within three hours of the surgery. But as with any surgery, laser liposuction should be carefully considered and used as a last option after attempting to lose the fat on your own.
