It is REALLY not nice; it is really an ugly affair! Despite most of us desiring and waiting in great anticipation of the day Colonel Muammar Gaddafi will step down (or be forced to leave like his neighbors Hosni Mubarak of Egypt and Ben Ali of Tunisia). I say it is not nice and I also say it is ugly because now we are witnessing an incident that really tore and divide the world. Most people of the world just want the giant United States of America to play the big brother role to the rest of the nations of the world. Most people want the United States of America to display benevolence and wisdom in their leadership over other nations. The incident I am referring to that tore and divide the world into two halves is that once America acts in a way that is considered like that of a bull bullying other cattle in the kraal like now what is evolving in Libya currently then they whole world catches the cold and wonder in great admiration. To the world it may seem that America is failing the world. It is not providing effective leadership. Are there no other ways to handle international conflicts than an age old strategy of solving problems by throwing soldiers at them? As one commentator commented in some Brazilian publication that: "to see the self proclaimed superpowers bombing other countries. Things are getting ugly, western countries are mudding the water in their determination to show latest arms (how strong they are)". Now this comment above might not be the truth and I doubt that it is the truth but considering that within less than 10 years America is up and up again bombing another country may in the first degree leave people wondering. And let us not be shallow and say that these US led coalition is implementing the United Nations Resolution. Let us come down to the bone of the whole thing and acknowledge and accept that in actual fact the United States of America is more powerful more convincing than the United Nations in the eyes of the people of the world and in reality too. The case of the United Nations was at least put forth by former President George W Bush when he viewed the United Nations playing role as a worldwide humanitarian organization rather than deciding on mighty issues like wars. In actual fact George W Bush might have been saying "Trust the United States to lead and guide the world". Obama being a sensible moral man perhaps we may see soft landing for this dangerous divisive airplane flying in stormy weather in Libya.
