Acne, or acne vulgaris, is a very common skin condition affecting mostly adolescents and is usually a result of increased male hormones present in both genders. What causes Acne?
It is thought that the increased production of the Testosterone hormone and natural oils in the body during the teenage years is responsible for the formation of pimples. However other physical and genetic factors may also play a role. Stress, psychological disturbances, and irregular living habits can also bring on Acne.
Acne Home Remedies
It is very effective and proven acne home remedy. Take fresh methi leaves and grind them to make a paste. Apply it on the acnes and leave for 10-15 minutes. After that, wash it with warm water. This remedy is beneficial for acne, blackheads and pimples.
Apply paste of strawberries leaves on the acne as it is alkaline and it helps in reducing swelling.
Massage acne with lemon peel and then wash with lukewarm water.
To reduce the swelling of acne, apply toothpaste at night and wash in the morning. But do not apply toothpaste over other areas of skin as it has drying effect over the skin.
To reduce the oiliness of the face, wash it with water containing salt in it.
Grind fresh mint leaves and apply that on your acne ridden skin areas and leave overnight. Wash it in the morning.
Mix equal quantities of lemon juice and rosewater. Apply it over the affected area and wash with lukewarm water after 15-20 minutes. You will easily see the positive results after 15 days of regular use.
Grind 1-2 garlic cloves and apply it over acne twice a day. This remedy is a bit smelly but very effective.
Take 3 tsp of dried basil leaves and cover it with 1 cup water in a boiler. Steep it for 20 minutes. Cool it and apply this extract over acne with cotton wad.
It is extremely important to keep the face clean. You can apply rosewater with cotton wool thrice a day. It will control oil on the face.
Take 1 tsp of cinnamon powder and add to it 1 tsp of lemon juice. Apply it over affected area 2-3 times a day. Wash it after it is dry.
Drinking nettle tea cures many skin disorders. Drink 3-4 cups of this tea in a day to control acne.
Acne can be treated with application of aloe vera gel twice a day
Take 1 tsp turmeric powder and make a paste of it with mint juice. Leave it for 30 minutes and wash with lukewarm water.
