Why a maternity swimdress is the best for you

Are you pregnant and want to go swimming, yet don't know what type of maternity swimsuit will be best for you? Maybe you think that bikinis are a little too exposing and that one-piece suits are not worth the hassle of getting into. Or maybe you're tired of all those women wearing the same old tankinis. What else is there for you to try? Well, why not a maternity swimdress?

A swimdress is a two-piece swimsuit, much like a tankini but looking more like a mini dress. It is much more flattering than any other swimsuit and can give you great coverage without looking too "baggy." They have been around for a long time and have been popular mainly with older women, but now they are making a comeback.

You might remember your mother wearing these long ago or might have even seen a picture of your grandmother wearing one of these. Yet, the designs available now are very fashion forward and are tailored to accentuate without sacrificing comfort. Even women who don't feel the need to cover up love it because of their now trendier and sexier designs. Most are patterned after typical modern dresses but with the added feature of you being able to swim in it.

For the top, you can choose designs with ruffles for a more girly look. You also have the option for thick straps or thin straps depending on your body type. Typically thin straps will be more flattering for a petite figure while thicker straps are suited for almost any body type. Tie fronts will give you flexibility to adjust your top while halter necks are very flattering no matter your bust size. Go for V-necks or U-necks for a more classic look or with spaghetti straps if you want support but are not a fan of thick straps. For the more adventurous or daring mothers, try on a backless or bandeau type, just make sure your bust gets ample support.

You also have the option to choose what kind or dress you get- a free flowing skirt that's flared at the bottom will be able to hide your backside, something with a v-cut will accentuate your waist, while a full skirt will minimize your rear and thighs.

A maternity swim dress will vary in length but a standard one will cover enough to hide your baby bump. If you want more coverage, look for a longer dress so that it can cover a part of your thighs as well.

Swim dresses also come with the advantage of being a swimsuit and cover up in one. After swimming, you don't need to don an extra cover, as your swim dress already does this for you.

If you're looking for a better alternative to your swimsuit, a maternity swimdress is the thing for you. They can provide the comfort and coverage needed for pregnant mothers while being trendy and fashionable at the same time. You'll be sure that it won't "shrink" on you and it can accentuate your features while hiding those things that are better left unseen.
