Kangana Ranaut is a beautiful new star from Bollywood. She is daughter to Amardeep Kaur, a businessman and Asha, a school teacher, living in Himachal. She decided to try out her luck in modeling industry as she was attractive and talented. To give a good start to her career she got associated with Elite Modelling Agency in New Delhi. Within some time she became interested in acting.
Her career as an actress in films began when she was working as a theatre actress in Asmita Theatre Group. In her first drama Taledanda by Girish Karnad, she worked with Indian theatre director Arvind Gaur. Step by step, she polished her acting talent to enter the huge world of movies. Relocating to Mumbai turned out to be a good decision for her as she got the needed break in films while in the new place.
She was given her first break in movies as the main character in Gangster when noted film director Anurag Basu saw her in a cafe in Mumbai. Through this mega hit, Kangana Ranaut was recognized as a talented actress. For the captivating performance in this film, she received the Filmfare Best Female Debutant Award. Because of the acting talent she showed in first movie she was selected for Woh Lamhe.
Yet again, it was Anurag Basu, who offered her a role in Life In A Metro, where she plays the role of a lost girl who searches for real love. Her brilliant on-screen performance was acknowledged again in this movie. In Fashion, she portrayed the role of a respected model, who later on loses all that she had because of drug obsession. She got rave reviews for this role. The film, which mainly shows the negative side of the modeling industry, was a big success. Kangana Ranaut bagged both the Filmfare Best Supporting Actress Award and Supporting Actress Award in the National Film Awards for her excellent enactment in the movie.
The commercial thriller, Raaz - The Mystery Continues, was her last well-applauded film. Kangana Ranaut did a cameo in Kites which had the popular star of Hindi cinema, Hrithik Roshan.
The dedication and sincerity, she has shown to acting, has fetched her good roles in Hindi films and Southern films. She acts opposite to Bobby Deol in her upcoming movie Vaada Rahaa, while another upcoming project is Ek Niranjan, which is from the distinguished Telugu filmmaker, Puri Jagannadh.
