Kitchen 600 Pro Mixer

Recently, I received a kitchenaid 600 series stand mixer as a gift to go with my new kitchen. I have always wanted to own a Kitchenaid stand mixer as nothing says quality like Kitchenaid but didn't think I could afford one. Well, was I wrong! Of course I wasn't wrong about the quality of the mixer. I mean wrong about the price!

Before I had even unwrapped my gift, I noticed how heavy it was. There is no way you will suffer from an out of control mixer skating across your bench top with one of these. The weight is due to a full metal gearbox and casing along with a 575 seriously powerful electric motor. It also comes with a 6 quart stainless steel mixing bowl with enough capacity to knead 2 loaves of bread at the same time.

My Kitchenaid 600 series stand mixer came in onyx black with a high quality paint finish. The mixer comes in a range of colors but choose carefully as the color can dramatically change the price. A sure conversation starter with visitors, my kitchenaid 600 pro is permanently on display on my kitchen counter top.

The performance of the mixer is truly impressive. With a soft start to minimise any ingredient splatter the mixer has a full range of 10 speeds. 14 cups of all purpose flour (less for high gluten or multi-grain) can be mixed with the direct drive steel gearbox and powerful motor. Included, the powerknead spiral hook will cut down the time and effort is takes to bake your own bread. An overload protection feature will prevent overheating in case you are a little ambitious with your quantities.

The kitchenaid 600 series stand mixer is fitted with a professional bowl lift to raise the bowl into the mixing position. Other accessories included are a professional wire whip, a burnished flat beater, a spiral dough hook, and a one piece pouring shield. It also comes with a multi-purpose attachment hub to attach additional attachments such as an icecream maker, sausage stuffer, food processor, juicer, grinder and slicer, and many more. Personally, I will be adding the icecream maker this summer (and probably about 10 pounds!).

If I had one complaint, and to me it is only minor, it would be that the supplied attachments aren't dishwasher safe and need to be washed by hand as the harsh chemicals in your dishwasher will tarnish the metal on the attachments.
