The Vertical relation with God is realized in the horizontal relation with others.
From philosophical speculations to actual observations to metaphysical convictions.
You can live by yourself and in the silence and privacy of your room can worship God, pray to Him, love Him and adore Him.
But, it is in your relations with the universe and others that you realize your belief in Him and express your worship, fear and love for Him. It is through the others that you serve Him. It is through the vertical relation that your actualize your acknowledgment of God and your appreciation of Him.
You look into the universe and your realize there is a power that must have made it, construct it and ordained it. You look into galaxies and acknowledge the might and intelligence of a master creator. You look into matter and you realize that it has a maker, a designer, an architect, an engineer, to bring it about, make it what it is, function as it does and move as it does, obeying universal laws and divine will.
You realize by your comparison with the universe how small and insignificant you are. You realize that you did nothing to bring the universe about and that you are nothing but an observer. You realize that you had no role in your being, in making your own atoms, in shaping them and forming them in the way you are.
You realize you did not contribute to the making of the solar system, of the sun, of the moon and the stars. You realize you are not the one who brought about the other two millions of animal species, let alone other species of flora, microscopic things, metals, other solids and liquids.
You realize that you are but another creature, made in the way you are and endowed with a mind to think, eyes to see and a lifetime to make up your own convictions about this living universe. You realize that you coexist with other shapes and forms of your own species. You realize how you are made and how your species continues its progeny, all without your help and without your intervention.
You realize that you have to share this life with other humans like yourself and have to behave within codes of morality and laws that decide the nature of your relations with others.
You realize you have to comply with certain regulations and systems of conduct that permits you to survive and understand.
You realize your worth as a human being, your value and your dignity. You actualize yourself through the universe and realize that without the power of a God, an All Mighty, creator of knowledge and of what knowledge provides, you cannot even appreciate anything, think of anything, and make one action.
You actualize yourself by circulating in this world and committing yourself to the power that put your atoms together.
