Men's Incessant Obsession With Working Out

I admit that most of the male population is not obsessed with working out or even their health. They are instead obsessed with other addictions like junk food. I'm referring to the recent rise of young adult male's obsession with working out (some of them even referring to themselves as gym junkies'). Here I provide an explanation for their obsession, as well as a possible solution for it.

Television

In the 80's, attractive men' on TV looked quite different than today's attractive man'. How many attractive people have you seen on TV lately? A whole lot is the right answer. But decade to decade there is change in what is considered attractive. Fashion, grooming styles, all these things change regularly. It is mainly from television (and other media) that we form our opinion as to what we consider attractive.

The result of viewing thousands of images of attractive people' is that men and women will try to emulate and groom themselves as what they see. This is fine to one extent, but I believe some young men are taking things to the extreme when they being working out excessively (sometimes without professional advice). They also consume a whole array of supplements', which can have some adverse side effects if taken in an inappropriate manner.

Monkey See Monkey Do

Men see other men getting attention for their built' physiques, so they want the same attention and admiration' for themselves. Some men have gripped onto this fact so hard that they practically live' at the gym. They seem to be blind to all the other ways there is to attract a woman's attention.

Lack of Originality

These men are not taking control of their lives. They are copying one strategy' for success with women. But this one strategy can sometimes backfire, leaving many men with poor wallets and the loss of female attention. The very thing they were trying to achieve in the first place.

If you have ever browsed around in a social network, you will no doubt have come across the thousands of guys who display shirtless photos of themselves. Even photos taken while they are working out. Their profiles look like template copies of each other. It's the same repetitive shots of their bodies over and over.

My Solution for Gym Junkies'

The solution is that you must grow in other areas besides your physicality. Feed your brain. Try new things, attempt to see the world as it really is and do not let the media tell you what you should look like. Decide that you want to inform yourself as to how you should go about getting a woman's attention and admiration. Do not just grip on to one single strategy' because you see many others doing it. Educate yourself on how to become truly original and unique. Success with women will be your reward.
