Professional Party Planner To The Pre School Crowd

Being a mother of four adorable children gives me instant expert party-planner status. There's no denying that planning a birthday bash with pre-school kids for guests isn't as easy as preparing for adults-only formal dinners - any sane person would probably choose to host the latter. There was a time when I myself would rather look for gourmet caterers than scout for someone who does caricatures in Orange County. It wasn't until my third child turned five that I got around to planning a party that kids would surely dig. And get this; there are only three things to keep in mind for the initial party prep.

Who's Boss

It's your kid's birthday after all so make him or her feel in control. Make your child feel like boss even for that one special day. A little sit-down talk with your child must be the first step in party preparation. Consult the celebrant regarding the theme, decorations, venue, food, entertainment and guests basically all the details of his or her upcoming celebration. After gathering all necessary particulars, it would be easier to determine the budget and efforts required. My twins were pretty artsy for their age that on their fourth birthday party they wanted a painting party. That meant gallons of washable paint and several feet of child-safe plastic covers for our immaculate white walls and marble flooring. Instead of the typical clown, we hired an artist known for making caricature in Riverside County and caricature in San Bernardino as well. Boy, the party was literally messy but in a really good way. Everyone went home covered in paint. No one was spared but for our walls and floors, of course.

Rally Your Rescue Team

As much as you want to be called super mom, you know it's just not humanly possible to oversee al the happenings in your kid's party. It's best to have your husband, your best mates or your older children help you out on the day of the big bash. For some reason husbands are always in charge of documenting the highlights of the party, video cameras and digital cameras dangling from their necks and wrists. Your best girls, preferably those with kids of their own, can help you look for entertainment, say a caricature artist for parties, and help shop for needed materials like decorations and party favors. Older kids can facilitate the games or help prepare gift bags and prizes.

Keep em Busy

The average attention span of a fiver year old is 15-20 minutes and the duration of your party would be at least four times longer than the above-mentioned figures. Make sure you don't leave the young crowd with nothing to do. Bring out as much child-safe toys and games and make sure every single kid gets to play. You wouldn't want crying kids on your watch, right? It's good to have some form of entertainment. Hire clowns, magicians or caricature artists for parties in Los Angeles County.
