Planning To Invest In Life
Knowing why is as important as knowing how to invest in life. Those that know how write the best stories on success because of their ability to start over. At some point they also learned why properly investing in these three main categories is vital:
1. Investing Your Time
2. Investing Your Resources
3. Investing Your Energy
Your Time
Considered by many to be our most valued commodity, time is part of every dream and vision for a rewarding lifestyle. One of the reasons we feel bored or frustrated has to do with the subconscious realization that time is slipping away.
The current rise in entrepreneurialism is split between those who aren't satisfied with their income, and those who want to redeem more time. The wisest in this crowd only pursue opportunities that increase their profit line while decreasing the amount of time they must invest.
Surprisingly the most successful people who live the most rewarding lives insist that true fulfillment came when they learned to invest their time helping others. Trying to selfishly hold onto your free time rather than using it to serve people isn't a wise investment.
Your Resources
I won't split hairs over whether time can be considered a resource and the reason I chose that word over money' is because currency' is a means for exchanging resources. Yes people do exchange time for money but in order to get the gig you must have the talent.
Education and experience are still the most valued resources because they can bring an immediate return through direct application. Farmers depend upon what an agricultural engineer has learned and new business owners crave the experience of seasoned veterans.
The combination of your accumulated knowledge and experience are the direct result of how you invest your time. The acquisition of wealth is a direct result of how you apply these resources. Wisdom dictates that as you increase and improve upon what you know and what you can do, your investment will yield a greater return.
Your Energy
Every act of love demands your energy. Thinking requires energy which is why people joke about the gears turning. Exercise and sleep both require energy and both are required for a healthy life.
People love to boast about how they don't do anything half way and we encourage children to put forth their best effort because we know that anything less is a waste. How you invest your energy is equally important as to where and why; which is why kids tend to give up on something their heart isn't fully into.
I mention love first because it's easy to associate pouring our energy into something we love doing, just as it's easy to expend ourselves with those we love. Finding fulfillment is why we invest in life and spending our time and talent doing something we love will never wear us out. The reward is an abundance of wealth, health and wisdom.
