The material acrylic is a very good one. It is used in many products today due to its unique features and its versatile properties. Acrylic is good for so many things and this is mostly due to the nature of the material itself. Acrylic is very easily shaped which makes it ideal for products that need to be specially created for example.
Acrylic has been around for many years and will continue to be for lots more years to come. Acrylic is in so many products, more than I could write down here and probably more than I could ever think of.
Acrylic is used for many reasons in medicine. Acrylic has been found to be quite safe to the body and has many advantages to it. Acrylic is used lots in bone surgery, when bones are broken acrylic can be added to the bone to reshape and recreate the bone, this is an amazing thing that acrylic does as it helps so many people. During the war another discovery for acrylic was also made. Pilots who came to hospital after plane crashes sometimes had fragments of glass or acrylic embedded in their eyes, it was discovered that the pilots eyes with the glass in them would become infected as the body would try to reject the glass however the pilots eyes that had acrylic in them didn't become infected as often and the eyes didn't try to reject the material. This was a great discovery and is why today acrylic is used in contact lenses. Dentures and braces are all often made from acrylic due to their unique qualities and being able to shape them so easily.
Acrylic isn't just used for medicines and healthcare it is used for much more. Acrylic is used in business and entertainment and much more. Business professionals often have acrylic domes and displays where they can demonstrate work and convey messages to audiences. These domes can display words, pictures, logos or even just bright and relevant colours. In entertainment these are also the main reasons the domes are used. Acrylic is often used as the material in aquarium display glass. Acrylic is much more clearer than glass. At a larger thickness glass becomes less clear and this is why acrylic is normally used. Acrylic is much stronger too and can be shaped a lot easier. Acrylic is more expensive than glass however due to the benefits acrylic has over glass there is a much higher demand for it.
